PA & Sound
Professional PA systems sized to suit the venue. Smaller bars and function rooms receive a compact but punchy setup; larger spaces use additional amplification to ensure every corner of the room hears clearly. Speaker placement is assessed on arrival.
Mixing
Dedicated mixing equipment lets Jamie balance vocal levels, backing track volume and room acoustics in real time, so the sound stays clean and comfortable throughout the night — no feedback, no overpowering backing tracks.
Microphones

Singer & Audience Screens
Dedicated screens display song lyrics for performers and, where setup allows, a second screen keeps the audience engaged with the current track details. Screen configuration varies depending on venue layout and available space.
Lighting
Atmospheric stage lighting adds energy to the night without overwhelming the room. Lighting setups are adapted to suit the venue — from subtle accent lighting in a smaller pub to a fuller stage look for larger events.
Request Kiosk
Where available, a touchscreen kiosk allows guests to browse the song catalogue and submit requests without using a smartphone. This ensures everyone can take part regardless of what device they have with them.
Backup Equipment
Backup kit travels to every event. Technical issues can happen — having spare equipment on hand means the night carries on with minimal interruption.

Venue Space
Jamie's Karaoke requires a dedicated performance area suitable for a singer, screens and speakers. The exact footprint depends on the equipment configuration selected for your venue. When enquiring, please share approximate room dimensions or a floor plan if available.
Power Requirements
Standard mains power is required for the equipment. The number of sockets needed varies with the setup size. Jamie will confirm exact power requirements when discussing your venue — in most cases a standard venue supply is more than sufficient.
Setup & Soundcheck
Please allow access to the venue before the advertised start time so equipment can be set up and a soundcheck completed. The time needed will be confirmed when the booking is arranged. A brief soundcheck before doors open helps the night start on time and at the right level.
Music Licensing and ProDub
What Is a ProDub Licence?
Karaoke tracks are a specific format of recorded music — they retain the original musical arrangement but replace the lead vocal so a performer can sing along. In the UK, creating or using a karaoke-specific version of a commercial recording can constitute format-shifting, which requires permission from the rights holders.
A ProDub licence — issued by PPL (the music licensing body that represents performers and record labels) — covers the use of commercially produced karaoke tracks by entertainers who source music professionally and use it in live performance settings. It is one of the mechanisms that allows a karaoke host to operate lawfully when using this type of content.

Songs are professionally sourced, ensuring quality backing tracks rather than fan-made or low-quality copies. The catalogue is designed to appeal to a broad audience — whether guests favour 80s pop, classic rock, current hits or musical theatre, there is a strong chance their choice is already in the system.
Song availability can vary. Occasionally a specific track may not be in the catalogue or may not be suitable for the venue. Jamie will always let a singer know as early as possible so they can pick an alternative.
